Dr. Bailey’s own (free) explanatory online book The Magic of AcuDetox Part 1. and the page on this site devoted to Mindfulness and Neuroplasticity are helpful explanations. Reading, however, is optional, before and during sessions.

  1. QUESTION: What happens at AcuDestrsess Sessions in addition to Acupuncture?

  2. ANSWER: We’re aware that the process is enhanced by doing it in a group setting - so that’s the only way we offer it. Recipients are assembled in groups of 12 or more, meeting for an hour or more four days a week for a month. After relaxing in comfortable chairs with their acupuncture, recipients spend the time in conversation, and in state-of-the-art change methods derived from mindfulness and neuroplasticity
studies. While Kabat-Zinn’s mindfulness is in play, we do not employ training in meditation. Rather mindfulness arises spontaneously in the conversation, prompted by the training effect of acupuncture. Little or no effort is required.  Discussion surrounds current experiences rather than the problems which bring people in. Change begins in small measure but very rapidly for some. Recipients begin having new things occur as early as after the first treatment. As people note change they are encouraged to talk about it.
This spurs on others in the room. A lively conversation ensues. To make it even more effective, I use the
transpersonal  psychotherapy of Dr. Roberto Assagioli, and was intrigued by the neuroplasticity work of Dr. Jeffrey Schwartz. which acupuncture all owed us to augment considerably. These all blend into a delightful exchange, leaving people competently mindful and able to do their own neuroplastic work afterwards.

AcuDestress is a life-altering energy-shifting training session, by which, following one month of treatment, non-meditators fast track to mindfulness, then learn neuroplasticity, all initiated/sustained/modulated by AcuDetox ear acupuncture. Many recipients report that they become able, subsequently, to manage stress without psychotherapy and some are able to come off psychoactive medication.
